On AFF A800, AFF C800, ASA A800 or ASA C800 all-flash storage systems running with BMC firmware version 10.8,

ONTAP might log "netif.tcp.conn.bad.checksum:error" events for the e0S internal port.

The following are examples of the event message:

netif.tcp.conn.bad.checksum: TCP packet with bad checksum detected on port e0S. The packet arrived on connection with source address 192.0.2.81 and destination_address 192.0.2.84

or

netif.tcp.conn.bad.checksum: TCP packet with bad checksum detected on port e0S. The packet arrived on connection with source address 192.0.2.82 and destination_address 192.0.2.85

The following is an example of nodeshell "ifstat -a" output showing the "Bad TCP cksum" counter:

[-- interface e0S (19 days, 2 hours, 9 minutes, 10 seconds) --
